For the first time in Albania, has been designing the Albanian sign language curricula and improved the programs of special training courses and professional modules for children who study at the “Institute of Deaf Pupils” in Tirana.
After assessing the situation of the educational and professional curricula in this educational institution, the working group, consisting of experts from the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Quality Assurance Agency of Pre-university Education, the “Institute of Deaf Children”, ANAD organisation, Independent Forum for the Albanian Woman and Save the Children, has identified the problems and has worked on the design of 33 new learning modules suitable and specific for all age groups of children who learn in this institution.
New and adapted curricula for children with hearing difficulties will go through the accreditation process, aiming to start their application in the new academic year 2022-2023. This is a very important step forward in supporting the development, education and integration of children with hearing difficulties.
